OUR FOUNDER'S STORY
On April 21, 2023, my life changed forever.
A catastrophic jet ski accident left me with one of the most severe forms of traumatic brain injury (TBI). I suffered four skull fractures, nearly drowned, and spent almost a month and a half in a coma. My family was told that if I survived, the chances of making a meaningful recovery were extremely small.
But my story did not end there.
Against every medical prediction and nearly every statistic, I woke up.
Recovery became my full-time commitment. At 48 years old, I had to relearn many of the basic skills most people take for granted—including how to walk, talk, think, and my independence back. Through unwavering faith, determination, consistency, self intensive rehabilitation, and the extraordinary support of my family, my community, and an incredible team of medical professionals, I slowly rebuilt my life—one step at a time.
Today, after 3 years I have returned to living a full, independent life with my family in my bussness .
After rebuilding my life and being able to once again care for my family, I realized it was time to give back. I made the decision to create the New Horizon TBI Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope, support, education, awareness, and encouragement to traumatic brain injury survivors and their families.
I created this foundation because, during my own recovery, I discovered that many survivors and families struggle to find the guidance, encouragement, practical resources, and sense of community they desperately need. No one should have to navigate this journey alone.

OUR MISSION
We believe that no one should face a traumatic brain injury alone.
Our mission is to provide survivors and their families with hope, practical resources, education, advocacy, and a supportive community while raising awareness about the lifelong impact of traumatic brain injury.
Every brain injury is unique, and every recovery follows its own path. No one can promise the same outcome for every survivor, but hope should never be taken away. With the right medical care, rehabilitation, perseverance, support, and belief, meaningful recovery is possible.
I know this because I lived it.
After nearly six weeks in a coma, I survived one of the most severe brain injuries imaginable and fought my way back to a full and independent life. My recovery was not the result of a single breakthrough—it was built through thousands of small victories, daily consistency, unwavering determination, and a refusal to let my injury define my future.
That experience became my purpose.
The New Horizon TBI Foundation
The New Horizon TBI Foundation exists to share hope through real-life experience, connect survivors and families with meaningful support, and remind them that healing is not only about surviving—it is about rebuilding a meaningful life. Throughout my recovery, I learned to accept the symptoms I could not immediately change instead of letting them define me. Through a daily routine of physical exercise, cognitive training, gratitude, faith, and choosing not to ask, “Why me?”, I gradually regained control of my life and not let symptoms controlling me .and While every recovery is different, I hope my experience can inspire others to keep moving forward with out looking back and take it one step at a time.
My mission is to share everything I have learned throughout my recovery so that others may benefit from my experience. If my journey can help even one survivor regain hope, one family find strength, or one person refuse to give up, then every challenge I endured has found a greater purpose.
This foundation is more than an organization—it is a promise that no survivor or family has to walk this journey alone.
From Injury to Purpose.
From Survival to Mission!
With gratitude,
